Listening to this song through headphones caused a few flashbacks. :) "Dark Side of the Moon" is definitely one of the classics!

Going for a somewhat abstract interpretation of the title and trying to create something different and alien. It could have been better.

Set up little color creature on cardboard. He's clay and Styrofoam. Painted stretched strips of pantyhose (they don't show much) different colors, then, draped the gauzy, colored fabric around the creature. Used Bryce to create alien planet sky and displayed on my iMac for a background.

Cropped, levels, curves, saturation, sharpened and color adjustments to make the colors more vivid. Ran Noise Ninja, saved for web.

Creative and nice composition with the scarves and planet. I would like to see a little more of the alien's? face peeking out - it took me a minute to find it in the scarves. 7.

Well gosh! I am glad I didn't choose this title (was thinking of it) because I'd hate to be compared to this absolutely gorgeous shot. I love the colors of the subject and the background, and I LOVE how the DOF is limited but in such a way that it is not excessive / does not draw attention to itself. Also, I love how the material is arranged in an abstract way, but the shot itself does not seem abstract - it is a very cool juxtaposition.

I just love the colors in this photo. At first I thought it needed to be crisper but after looking at it some more it is very crisp. Nice use of the rule of thirds with the little creature looking out from what I believe to be scarves. I like the background but I can't help but wonder what it would look like with a solid black or solid white background. Very creative idea and I hope it does well in the challenge. Very fine tribute to Pink Floyd.
