well, this is a good lesson for me...

I have always found Pink Floyd to be somewhat dark and edgy. For me, I really wanted the clouds to be dark and maybe a bit ominous. Working in within basic rules I had to make some choices as to how the image would go. Now, I know this background, the vegetation on the hillsides is all very homogenous, seeing it in the foreground is basically the way it is on all the hillsides. I worked hard to not have the shadow detail go completely black, looking at the image for a few seconds, you can see that the hillsides are very similar to the foreground, yet the clouds are making them very black, Will the dam break? what sort of upheaval might be ready to happen that might cause a catastrophe?

Those were the sort of questions, feeling I was looking to evoke. Thank you for all of the comments.

Nice composition. Needs more shadow detail.

The line from the song would have been a perfectly adequate title!

The lighting is not ideal here - the dam and hillside are too much in shadow. You may have been able to help this in PS.

would like to see some of the details that are in shadows on the side of the mountain ...

The hills are really dark and the dam itself is also too much in the shadows. I think the view down to the dam takes away much of the power that something like this can evoke. If you shot from below the dam looking up toward it, it would really dominate the shot and seem much more powerful.

The dark area draws my attention too much. Some detail there would be good. Otherwise, great colors. 6
