Camera: Canon PowerShot G5
Location: My Basement

Aperture: 8.0

Bunch of 1-3/8" fine thread drywall screws setup on a piece of masonite. Set the light up and then placed the screws so that the head of each was at the point of the shadow of the previous one. Took all of about 10 minutes to set up. Adjusted levels and boosted the saturation of yellow, resized and submitted. Just in time too.

That looks like a lot of work -- nice job!

I really like your idea here, the screws look as if they are floating above the background. It must have taken you a while to set this one up and get the lighting spot on. Something different for sure!

The angles and shadows create an optical illusion - the perception of whether the screws are lying down or standing keeps shifting.

I really like the repeition of this, and also the angle you flipped it to. The only way to improve it I think would be to have the rows closer together, especially on the left, to form a solid grid. the illusion is very striking.

You have put a lot of effort and thought into this and it works very well. 7

I think if your background color were different this could be a great shot.
But as it is the color does not do anything for me. Nice idea and setup.
