Hah! I wish! :) I actually am not working at all these days and this is more my dream job, to just work taking landscape photos, being all alone out in the country taking my time.

Not really all that happy with this shot but not unhappy either, just the weather REALLY sucked this week and the only opportunity for shooting it was a couple of hours on the 22nd, before that it either rained, snowed or was windy or or all of the above and the 23rd and 24th went into christmas preparation so no way I was going to spend those days taking photos for challenges. Was more kindof trying to, well not copy but more like, get inspired by this type of photograpy by Terje.

Was literally all alone at Thingvellir that time, took this around noon and didn´t see a single car on the 45km drive there. Since I didn´t have a timed remote I had to improvise, put the camera on continous shooting and 4 second shutterspeed, then set it off and ran off to sit down and tried staying still for as long as I could. Hence, taking this shot took about 50 frames or so, was a whole series of me running over there and then again back to the camera :)

Irony is that I didn´t get the chance to take any real photos of the waterfall while I was out there, the camera in my hands is a loaner courtesy of indridistefans and I never even took the lens cap off it and shorty after taking this photo I was hit by real bad weather, started pouring down rain/snow and I had to get the hell out of there.

Used a tripod and a 103 ND filter to get the longer exposure time, was very overcast that day.

Post processing was cropping, shadow/higlights, curves, a little dodge burn, healing brush to take out sensor dust specs and sharpened after resizing. Felt I really had to add the frame to keep the eye from wandering out the top of the frame since the sky is almost blown out.

Great shot - been there in the summer many years ago, but it looks even better in winter !

I love this image. So cold and contrasty - I even like the white sky. A nice different looking waterfall shot. Congratulations on top 20. Adding to favorites.

I'm always a sucker for these slow-shutter water pics. This is a good example of the genre, although the sky has been treated a little harshly.

Borderline dnmc, though - sticking a photographer in the frame doesn't make it a photo about the photographer. And this one strikes me as being very much about the water...

original, love the no sky in this - normally I would not have expected this to work, but here it really creates simplicity to the shot!

Beautiful landscape and illustration of your occupation. Way to hold still for the long exposure. Very nice.

I'm not really sold on the bright white upper quadrant. The rest I like.

The milky quality of the water is fantastic. Great long exposure shot. Sky looks a little too blown to match the softness of the falls, though. 7.

Very beautiful. Wish you could see the camera a little more... if that's what that is. I think I see a tripod?

I normaly don't care for the long exposturs with the water, but this one seems to work rather nicely. Really like the snow covered scene.

I cant tell if the contrast is too high or if it just the white snow. Either way I dont care, because i like it!

I wish that sky wasn't like that but other than that this is perfect. I love how it takes you a second to see the photographer. Even in color you blend into your surroundings.

Just a guess, but I won't be surprised if this turns out to be a "love it or hate it" photograph. Me, I love it... 9

Astonishing setting. Wow. I like the fact that you've put yourself in the picture, but made the context the dominant character.

The selective desaturation is nice. Also the contrast between the soft water and the harshness of the contrast in the rest of the scene works really well. 8
