I think the commends have probably indicated this to you already - but this shot would be greatly improved if the point of view was raised slightly and the focus shifted to the batteries rather than the person.
Additionally, the lighting is a little flat and the background a little bit uninteresting. Good lighting needn't be expensive - you should think about taking a shot like this near an open window on a fairly sunny day.

I am purposefully seeking out the ones that are more than just a picture of a battery - but I don;t think I totally understand the meaning of this picture. It looks like you might have a good story here but the title is kind of throwing me. |

She looks so sad and dissatisfied by the spent batteries. Her expression kind of reminds me of how people typically feel when they've been puntching buttons on the remote control only to eventually realize the cause of the problem... empty batteries! |
