My favorite shot of the day - an accidental...
Along the seashore in Laguna Beach by Las Brisas, I was getting ready for a still seascape shot.
From left field, this boy hopped onto the rock, apparently oblivious to my presence. He watched his escape route as the surf would surround the stone.
(Straightened, cropped, levels, exposure, constrast, color and saturation adjustment, sharpened, resized, added border and removed minor distraction.) IMG_5231 |

| THe only thing I wish were different on this image would be to not have the island cutting through the figure of the child. I think it is distracting and a little confusing. Maybe it would also be nice to have his arm extended a tiny bit to seperate it from his body so that we can see it. That is the tough part about silohuettes. Other than those two small things, this image is total perfection. A wonderful profile so we can see the boy's features. Nice highlights on the water and still some detail in the shadows (on my monitor). Great angle to put the boy's head above the horizon. Overall nice balance and a sweet, calm mood. Very nice. 8 from me. |
