Challenge: Free Study XVI (Advanced Editing V*)
Camera: Nikon D200
Lens: Nikon AF Zoom-Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 VR DG IF-ED
Location: Bellingham WA, Leading Edge Gymnastics Center
Date: Dec 9, 2006
Aperture: 2.8
ISO: 2700
Shutter: 1/625
Date Uploaded: Dec 28, 2006

Shot during my niece's gymnastics meet. Lighting was pretty bad, standard flourescant. Shot taken at 2700 ISO, f2.8, 75mm, and 1/625s , still I couldn't stop all the motion blur. Probably get dinged for the left hand as well. Also, not in a good location, up in the rafters as they would not let anyone down on the level floor.

Not sure how this one will do, 4.7 since it is a free study. It's just not a standout picture, but one of my favorites for the month.

Little post applied, there is actually no noise reduction done. Considering it was an extremely high ISO shot, I am pretty pleased.

I have attempted volleyball shots and I know these large area inside gymnasium type shots are very hard! This one caught my eye. Her pose and the blue mat give it some impact. Not perfectly clear, but very nice for the conditions. I can understand why you like it!

Great exciting photo. The diagonals really do lend excitement. For all the tough conditions, this is a great job.

Quite nice work - lacks some punch of light, but the lines - both of her body shape and the background - make an interesting element.

As an ex gymnast I can see the beauty in this. Perfect for the family album, however in a photo contest I only give you a 5

she seems a bit fuzzy, like the composition and the point at which you stopped her action
