This is Tamara, a model who contacted us through Model Mayhem (the same model who is in my Xmas series)! This was taken near the end of our shoot using a single Bowens Esprit mono with a softbox. The black shirt sits nicely on my screen so I hope everyone is calibrated ok. I've suffered for this before! This is from my first shoot with the 30D and the EF17-40mm f/4L!! I hope I atleast hit a 6!

Nice shot Makka. The lighting is great as is the composition and your model.

personally, I think that this image would be stronger if you cropped just below her arm ... I don't think you need her legs, they distract from her eyes and expression ...

She is too tense, and it shows that she is unsure through her face.

Very beautifully lit. Very flattering light on your model, and I like the back light, too. My two small suggestions would be...her legs (and to a much smaller degree her arms) seem bluer than the skin on her checst and face, probably because of the light falloff. I might warm them up a bit. Two, the back of her hand is not very flattering and feminine (not her hand, in particular, women's hands in general are best not posed with the back directly towards the camera). Her eyes really come out, even though her pose and hairstyle all keep them sort of hidden, which I think is very suited to the mood you are creating.

Gorgeous girl. Nice even lighting, though there is something odd about the positioning of her legs. Could perhaps have solved that by cropping a centremetre or so from the bottom. Still, an effective image and an 8 from me.

Nicely Lit. The back light really seperates her from the background. 8

The rich color is wonderful in this portrait. My only complaint is the white thing in the center of her bra. I'm not sure if it's okay to do this, but I'd clone it out. It pulls the eye away from her beautiful face and chest.

Consider toning skin on legs a bit - has a red cast that doesn't match golden effect on chest. Great lighting around face, though.

Excellent work!
+ The exposure and tonality across her face and chest is wonderful.
+ The eyes are well lit even though her right eye is slightly shadowed.
+ Subtle but nice lighting on the background to give separation.
- The only slight minus... and I had too long a long time to find anything... is the sharp transition from light to shadow where her left wrist is bent. A little abrupt for an image with such smooth transitions.... but so minor I wouldn't have mentioned except to show how well done the overall image is.
