Ah!! good idea, but on camera flash was not the way to add to the mood.

Great viewpoint here; shooting from their point of view is usually more flattering for children and in this case it also let you include the crucifix which adds to the story. The flash cast a harsh shadow on the wall that I find rather distracting.

I like the angle so that the cross is included in the background. A softer lighting would add to the feel of the prayer - not a flash, perhaps a light from the back so the child is in silhouette, with another light to pick out the cross -

Why not, but there are many other more appealing ways to catch this cute moment. Here, it looks posed and the flash is killing the whole image. Some soft light, from different sources, a shooting point at head level, placed at 10 or 11 would already make a difference.

This is cute But the shadow behind her is distracting and so is the lamp and mickey mouse. I think it would have been beautiful if you had let the light shine straight on her face So that the light would be in front of her and the picture would fade to dark behind her But I like the pose and the cross there - 6

Great idea but it lacks interest. I can tell by the angle from which you took the shot was an attempt at something artistic, but the lighting focusing on her jammies draws the eye there instead of to her lovely face. I'm also not wild about seeing the inside of the lampshade. Angling it away so that the lightbulb isn't showing might be a better choice. I do like the cross up on the wall, adding emphasis to this little girls budding spirituality. A nice statement, if somewhat poorly executed.

This is a very nice composition. The child is positioned well in the frame. In my opinion, It could be improved a little by possibly moving her to the left corner of the bottom of the frame and having her look upward a little or with closed eyes.

Also, the background is just a hare cluttered. remove the lamp from the desk and take down the plaque hanging above the bed (leave the cross).

Lastly, I would light the background instead of the subject.

Please do try this shot again...It could become a classic!
