B&W conversion with Graduated Olive filter. Crop, some levels, contrast, slight burning, sharpen, stroke and save for web.

I took a picture of this tree last year in Santa Cruz and immediately thought of the rickety old fence below it when this challenge was announced - I'm just glad I had some time this weekend to go out and take another shot.

I was going for the old haunted look, as the fence would seriously not save anyone from falling off the cliff. There were several angles and crops of this picture (some showing the cliff below), but this cut seemed the most appealing to me. I know the fence does not appear to be the main subject of the image, but I'm hoping it appeals to the viewers.

Very Chinese-print-like. How do you get reality to do this?? 9

This seems a little bit stretched?? I like the picture I think it is beautiful, but either through editing or perspective it looks unnaturally stretched horizontally. 6

Overall, a very nice and serene photo. This is the type of image I could hang on my walls. I like the tonal values too. Good luck in the challenge.

what a dramatic looking tree! i probably would have liked the shot simply in bw. the yellow cast seems out of place, somehow. (to me anyways) nice shot though.
