This is lake Plesant, in the Adirondacks. Took this shot after a snow/rain storm. The clouds broke and I was able to catch the sun rays coming through.

The blown out clouds in the sky are a little bit distracting to me, but otherswise, I like it.

It actually doesn't look very calm sorry. Nice shot catching the rays though. Nice composition too.

This piece is too blue (and hence too monotonous) for me. Personally (and feel free to disagree) when I have a shot like this that is so close to being two tones already (in this case blues and whites), I like to just go ahead and make it do what it's trying to do using a monochrome or sepia range effect, and then play with the contrast and lighting. I think that just might be the thing to push this one over the top. I offer a 6.
