Challenge: Centered Composition II (Advanced Editing V*)
Camera: Nikon D50
Lens: Nikon AF Zoom-Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.0-5.6G
Location: Phoenix Wildlife Zoo
Date: Dec 29, 2006
Galleries: Nature, Animals
Date Uploaded: Jan 1, 2007

Taken at the Phoenix Wildlife Zoo, very little editing, cropped, sharpened and a slight level adjustments.

I know I saw a photo like this one a while back looks like it may even be the same subject posing but when I saw him/her standing on top of the rock looking so proud I had to take the picture.

My darling Susanâ€Â¦guess I’ll never know why she left me for Rocky. I need to get myself together thoughâ€Â¦8 weeks without a shower is starting to take its toll.

I like it, but I wish it was a little sharper. Maybe more unsharp mask or something.

He looks a bit oversharpened maybe. But otherwise, I like this image. Great colors and contrast especially.

Great dof that separates him from the background and makes the texture distinct, but seems a bit oversharpened to me.

I just love these little fellows: but wouldn't call him "self-centred" since his position is one of duty to others ...being the lookout. These little critters take it in turns to share the role of lookout for the good of the whole colony...watching for predators. If one is spotted they give the alarm call. Really risk their own lives for the benefit of the others every time they go on duty.

Beautifully captured nevertheless and good control of post processing.

lighting is flat and it could use a boost in contrast...
