 It\'s an ironic entry for me, being an especially dilligent ex-seminarian, but basically I\'ve gotten so wrapped up in church music and graduate studies that I\'ve lost my \"personal time with God.\" I hope this one won\'t get slammed by any voter-participants in faiths other than Christianity. It\'s not at all meant to be a normative statement about faith; it\'s merely a personal reflection on something I wish I had spent more time doing in 2006.

Editing steps included:

-- Convert to black and white
-- Adjust brightness and contrast
-- Dodge and burn around text to improve clarity and remove \"bleed-throughs\" from text on underlying pages
-- Resize and add border
-- Apply spot filter to draw focus to the lower left and the passage contained there
-- Sharpen slightly

I hope you guys enjoy this offering!

unfortunately, there was a better shot of the same concept in this challenge - this seems to plain compared to the other.

I can't believe I got two identical approaches to the same challenge one after another. Yours is more stark and thus gets an extra point.

Strong composition, perhaps needs more in the way of lighting and compositional thought to make real impact.

Hmmm... A more uplifting word could maybe work better. Focus is nice and crisp.
