Challenge: Black and White Portrait II (Advanced Editing V*)
Camera: Canon EOS-350D Rebel XT
Location: Anchorage, AK
Date: Jan 4, 2007
Aperture: 1
ISO: 2
Shutter: 3
Date Uploaded: Jan 4, 2007

Self portrait which is never easy for me, but didn't have any other models around. No I am not really an addict that I know of, just thought the look would work well in black and white and add to the darkness of the picture. Photo was shot in black in white as well. Editing included layers,dodge/burn, Selective color edits, Sharpen, Shadows/Highlights,minor clone on hot spots on face, flip horizontally and rotate, crop. Not sure what voters will think of this, they may be looking for the more "pretty" photos out there...sorry this isn't one of them!

A powerful portrait - the viewer could feel sucked in to your model's world.

Nice job with the light; looks like your model is trying to hide, but cannot.

Very nice shot, great lighting, great detail in the eyes. I don't really care for the title, to me the photo carries enough story, better to let the viewer see through their own eyes. 7

This is really good. It's a bit dark on my monitor here at work, but the composition and processing are so good it makes up for it! One of the better ones here for sure.

OMG .. far out, so REAL and very emotive .. its a terrible problem in these times ... my thoughts and prayers go out to anyone in this situation .. just know that its one of the most difficult things to break, but it can be done ... you've just gotta believe that you can do it!! ... =9
