Okay....I gotta suck it up on this one and tell you I gave it a 4 because with this title, it would have made more sense to have the little girl by herself. I think it's a very good pic......the wall helps make this a small, but powerful look that would have really worked for me had Mom not been in the pic. Mom's taking that quiet moment with her daughter, so I have to say that it misses the mark for me as a Procrastination entry. I have a wonderful twelve year old myself and I grab these moments whenever I can.

Pleasant, beautiful, appropriate image & idea for the challenge. Stepped diagonal & bright/shaded footprint textured sand create a minimal and striking design. Ordered and very well composed. I see top & bottom vignette as noted by others, is merged into the scene in a strong way but has a somewhat clumsy effect. Edit sharpen borders appear over done especially seen in figure edges.

Vignetting can help pull the viewer into the image, but if too obvious, it can also become a distraction. You might try burning the edges and/or corners with a very large and very soft brush at between 10% - 17% opacity. That will be subtle enough that the viewer shouldn't notice it, yet effective enough to "contain" the image.

Having said that, I should also tell you that I like this shot a lot -- the special moment with the mother and daughter in a beautifully simple setting. Excellent composition and nice use of diagonal.

too heavy-handed on the vignetting (confession: I hate vignetting) but otherwise a really nice (if shoehorned) photo. 7

An interesting subject. The diagonal is too carefully framed, so that the shot gets this unnatural, preconceived taste. The vignette is too obviously added in PP. 5

Vignetting feels a bit forced; strong composition though; won't be surprised if you get some challenge-relevance comments.

Somewhat too subtle - you only have about 10 seconds, and on my first swing past this photo, it just looked like you're spending time with your daughter. On second look, I get the point.

I like the photo, but I don't understand how the title implies procrastination. It seems to be future, not past.

i like the feel this image brings. My question is "what are your procrastinating?" It seems that the mom here is doing exactly what she should be... bumped to 7 after looking at it again

I like the picture, but I don't understand how it fit's the challenge.

Beautifully set up diagonal. Tangential to procrastination, maybe. The adult spoils the emotional effect of the picture. It's worth 7 or 8 without the people, just as a picture. 6
