Still life, eh? Everything's still with a camera, but you do know what "still life" is, don't you? |

I can handle the framing but the shadows on the nose don't do anything to add character. Good subject; he's looking right out of the photo and good catchlight in his eyes. |

This is a nice pic and it works well in black and white, but it doesn't qualify as a still life in my opinion. |

Sorry about the comment yesterday, I had a bad day. Interesting portrait, I'm not sure why you decided to chop off the top of the head and bottom of the chin, but it's your image. As far as still life goes, I have been informed that there is a definition that has to do with movie pr shots and I suppose that this could qualify as one of those. Good lighting focus and all of that I just didn't think that it qualified at first. I will re-rate it. |

You have a nice looking dad. Say hello back to him for us! As for the shot, the cropping is too tight and the shape fo the shot, maybe if it was more squared. The frame is too big and is distracting in this shot. A 4 |

Does not meet the challenge. A still life is a picture of an object or group of objects arranged to communicate ideas of color, form, tone, texture and composition. Still lifes are inanimate. |

I like the framing of this, and it is a nice portrait. There is warmth in the expression... unfortunately, not a still life. |

more of a portrait, eh? the 3d look on the border makes it look like he's about to pop out of the rectangle, into the room. |
