Sorry for taking so long to comment on this :)
Well maybe even sorrier about not really finding anything to say about the shot. It´s nice, above average and I like it. However, not loving it either and well that´s it... Like the clarity of the shot. |

I was out shooting today, and took some nature shots with no focal point. And I was thinking about all the comments I would get about that if I posted them on DPC. I was wondering why that is so important for a good image. I decided it isn't important for a good image, but probably is for a great one.
I like this shot. I love the pattern created by the trees, and I really like the soft greens. The branches seem to be wrapped in a giant group hug. It's the sort of image that I can spend a lot of time with. It is relaxing, uplifting, and allows me lots of room to think for myself. I think it would be very nice in a giant size on a large wall. |

Doesn't move me much, but as always, the question is: do YOU like it? :)
I tend to prefer sweeping vistas, which in the case of a forest at least includes the bottoms and tops of some trees. Without that context, I see a bunch of vertical lines but no overall theme. I guess that puts me in the group skewsme mentioned. |

You have to have the right kind of eye and personal history to appreciate this for the really good picture that it is.
But a lot of it is the aesthetic value of the forest itself and how beautiful and rare they are for most people.
Having lived in the woods my whole half-century of life, I love this piney-woods.....to a city dweller, it's just trees.

I love these kinds of shots and can't resist taking them. Sadly, I've found that dpc voters need a place for their eyes to travel to or rest on. One thing that you might try is a diffuse glow filter on this. It should pick up the white in the background and make it spooky. (Sorry, I just always like spooky ;-) |

interesting, and i like the way there's a true illusion as the fir tree at centre seems to stand in front of, and then behind the, uh, paler tree, to the right. |

Lovely complexity and gentle tones. I wouldn't want to have to try it as a jigsaw puzzle though. |
