We had to say goodbye to our beautiful bunny girl, 10. We will miss her terribly.

As I stand on a mountaintop as the great bird approaches
She is small in my sight but grows larger on approach
Until I am blessed with a full sight of her graceful wings
Proud countenance and good company

All too quickly she grows small again
on the horizon and disappears from view
And I call out; "There, she's gone."

But there are other mountaintops beyond me
And at the precise moment when I note the great bird's departure
From my view
I know there are new eyes taking up the sight of her
And fresh voices calling out:
"Here, she comes."

Oh Judy, I'm so very sorry to read about your bunny :( Haven't been looking around dpc much and I've missed a lot. This must have been very hard for you. I didn't even know you had a pet bunny - they are great pets. Sooooo sorry for your loss. :-(

It is so depressing to lose a long time pet because they love us so honestly and with no reservation about it.
Death is not easy to deal with for any of us. It is a harsh reminder that we should never just expect that our family will always be here tomorrow.
This is one of those images that say way more than a thousand words.
Thank you for your on line friendship to all of us at DPC.
Strength and hugs to you.

So sorry to hear of your loss...

Beautiful inclusion of emotion, and thank you for allowing us to see into your world, for sharing with your DPC family. Thank you for taking the time to capture this, and know that someday you WILL be able to look upon this memory fondly.

Well done Judy, well done.

Excellent emotive capture, Judi. I'm sorry it wasn't "staged" and that it had to be for real.

Bunny hugs from me, Judy. :( ...and a poem:

I saw this photo of Judy's fuzzy bunny,
and was getting ready to post something funny-
You see I didn't realize the poor girl had died,
but then read the title: "Tearful Goodbye"

So I thought about what it is I should post,
should I say something flip, sarcastic or gross?
I rejected the idea of any of the above
and decided to say that Art sends his love.

:)

Oh, Judy. I'm sorry. We just got gerbils for our daughters, which are their first pets, and I'm already bracing for the day they die.

The photo is very powerful and a nice tribute to your friend.

Powerful portrait (- and what a great looking bunny !)

Sad news, but 10 is a tremendous age for a rabbit.

Awww Judy. I'm so sorry. I know you loved her very much, she had a great home there with you. Most pampered bunny in Texas. 10 years is a long time to have a friend. Thinking of you today.
