Very, very nice shot, Les! I really like the lighting, esp. the light shining on your hair. One of these days I need to learn how to light portraits well. I was so inspired that I did a shot today as a tribute to this one. :)

Terrific photo. There's detail in everything - even in the white white of the magazine facing the light source. The light on your hand is nicely controled. The texture of your backdrop adds depth and movement.

LOL! After posting the image, I thought that someone would think that. I never thought it would be you. ;-) Hence the reason for the link to the book at Barnes and Noble.

A mixture. A window to my right (diffused), with one daylight lamp (also diffused) above and behind me, which I used to separate myself from the background.
