 I finally figured out how to use the layer mask tool - cool. It's still not perfect - you can see my blunders (won't say where).

Created layer mask around me and the coffe e pot and darkened everything else. Had two lights plus the window.

Focus wasn't great on my face, so I selectively sharpened a lot. Brought out the grain a little too much.

Oh, that's not a good situation! Great photo..the expression and composition are nice. Lighting is really good. How fun that you learned a new trick. Always fun!

Love the natural lighting from the window! Tip: If you hit the backslash key (below backspace) it will show your mask on the picture and you can see a little better, and any little bits you have missed. Hit backslash again to hide again. Try it, very handy!

How timely...I'm repairing a leak in my kitchen sink today! I like the expression: No water, no coffee, no caffeine, argh!!!

Yeah, it's hard to make coffee with frozen pipes. YIKES! I hope they've thawed out by now. This is great -tells the whole story without any wording at all. Maybe we wouldn't know they were frozen, but we'd know you certainly needed some coffee!!! HA HA
