Hi Jamie.
Where this image went wrong mostly was in the sizing. For many of us here at DPC, if the image is not at least 640px on one side, then a point or two get lost right off the top. Some people simply (1) anything that isn't close to that size due to the challenges of trying to view the finer detail.
This is an image that dutifully fits the challenge and others will give a ten, simply because it fits and the image is crisp and clear. You have all the technicals down on this image, just not the 'artsy-ness' of it.
Imagine if you had been able to get right up close on this hole and shoot an angle that really dropped us into the tree...now, there I would have given some good bonus points. |

I really didn't like this picture to enter, but I didn't have much time to get into this challenge. I can see where this picture would be boring. I can't believe one person voted me a "10", and 3 voted an "8". |

your light is a bit harsh...IMO...maybe next time use a polarized filter. |
