Starting simple. Passed this walking around and thought it looked intriguing, the dark door, the stained walls...

Small adjustments to contrast, brightness and saturated the color a bit to make the green a bit more punchy

I thought my comment was helpful.

(Keep on using that 17-40. It's a great lens.)

The subject matter here, and the generally drab lighting, didn't do much for me. The set of stairs, down to a black door with the door handle showing (but not in focus), didn't make it mysterious enough to hold up to the title.

ask yourself. would you print this and put it on the wall?

Sorry. I don't like this you can't see the door (the main subject) and the plants are distracting. If you could see the door, it would draw the eye to this picture, but otherwise, it's lacking a subject.

Of course, the title helps. I am asking myself, "Down to where?"

Good luck.

Not a very captivating image, but it fits the theme of the challenge.
