I really like the simplicity and composition in this photo. I gave it a better than average vote in a difficult challenge for those reasons. I also find the lighting lovely. The only detracting aspect to me is the shadow extending back from the sled, which leads my eye out of the photo.

Yes, the lighting in this image is very special. It makes an ordianary image spectacular. Good eye in capturing this moment. Wonderful exposure and colors.

I like how the sled is so small in the frame, and I like the pop of red color against the bluey snow shadows. Maybe if the sled were a little bit lower, I'd like it even more. Also I think that maybe you could have played a bit more with the idea of the tracks leading to the sled. Right now those lines lead out of the picture. It would have been nice IMO if they had come from the opposite corner and meandered slowly to the sled.

I really like the lighting in this picture, but there seems to be just way too much empty space. It took me a while to see the sled. However the way you have made the diagonal light lead to the sled helps that alot. Great textures.
