A dart through an apple sitting on a glass with sunset as a backdrop.
I tried tomato-sause to portay blood but looked way too obvious/graphic and unnecessary so just sprayed water for an added interest and freshness.
Only one directional light (cheapo 500w shop-light) placed at such an angle that the reflection shows up around the "exit wound" only. two black cardboards to direct/concentrate the light beam on the apple.
post-process:
- clone sensor dust
- curves and saturation (multiple times)
- neat image
- usm
I wish I could clone out those two light reflections from the bottom and black-dot from the top-right part of the apple.

Some worms don't mess around! I like the orange and blue around the bright red of the apple.

I like the way you have the apple by doing this an having the water drip off it it adds movement to your photo with the center being pierced

Wow! Excellent photograph. I am amazed by the detail of the little water droplets all around. Nice use of creativity as well. The colors and different textures used are also very attractive to the viewer. Awesome work!
