 I had hoped to be able to go up to Nikko on Sunday to the Toshogu Shrine - some pretty amazing gates there - but I had to settle for this farmhouse gate near one of my schools. Late afternoon light.

Converted to B&W in camera on the green channel. USM, levels, resize, do the hokey-pokey, USM, save.

Since your photo is named "Farmhouse gate", the gate should be the main subject ant it must be easily visible. But there are a lot of objects in the image and the attention from the entrance/gate is distracted. Nice touch with the black and white

If the sign or poster at the gatehouse had been moved out of the scene, this would be a timeless looking image. Beautiful place, and well photographed. Fits the challenge theme well.
