 This was my cousin's wedding at a resort north of Orlando. I was not "the photographer", but I couldn't help myself from taking a few shots I could call my own.

This is their entrance to the reception. I was fortunate to achieve this lighting due to ISO and careful aperture/shutter control. And a wonderful clamp light position to camera right. I then utilized CS2 RAW to bump up shadows, contrast and decrease exposure to create this moody feeling. Serendipity played into this shot as well. If you look closely at the the groom, he is actually slightly blurred due to motion. But she is not. I like this natural effect of the shutter speed. Pure coincidence that truly makes her stand out just a touch. But it begs the question: Was she more calm than him? Was he hurrying into the room, whereas she was taking her time? Haha.

Lastly, I chose to include the hands clapping in the right, to both guide us into the photograph and ground it in the reality of the moment. I hope this does well....

The clapping hand is distracting and the groom is not is focus otherwise nice shot

you've really captured a sense of crossing a threshold, starting something new, you seem to have captured the very moment of transition. 8 bump to 9

This photo should maybe have been taken from the left of the couple so that they faced inwards and I would crop out the hands on the right. I like the lighting and mood though.

The strong focus on the cake, the soft focus on the bride, and the blurry groom really hurt this image for me. Lighting was also a problem, with the shadows making the whole thing look like a rather grim occasion to me (which I'm guessing it wasn't).

Mrs in Focus, Mr blurred. Darkness and shadows everywhere.... a wedding photog would delete this one.

I like the cake off to the right of the newlyweds and the clapping hands that almost go unnoticed. Nice image 7

The lighting looks planned, but it helps to put the accent on the subject. I am surprised that this is the first entry that I have seen with this "entering a new life" theme.

I really like the lighting on this. It's different and it works just fine (mostly, the shadow from the cake on the wall is a little distracting). Overall, nicely done. Good luck in the challenge.
