I fear the subject may be taking up too much space. But I like the shot so here goes.

the butterfly is beautiful, but the plant and the butterfly are not minimal use of space.

I have searched through the challenge for those entries where the negative space is more than just a plain black or white backdrop because, whilst I think that technique often makes for some really strong and high impact images, I̢۪m particularly drawn to entries where the negative space is relevant to the subject itself and actually contributes to the impact of the picture in a contextual as well as purely compositional way.

Beautiful vibrant colours and sharp detail and nice use of shallow DOF to blur the background sufficiently to reduce distraction but retain it̢۪s colour, which matches, of course, with the focused foreground leaves, to provide context. Composition a little too centred, perhaps, but still like it.

I think this is beautiful and I like the bokeh, but it doesn't speak minimal to me. If maybe it were a single flower off in the distance of small in the corner, or perhaps the butterfly as a single subject in the shot, it would have met the challenge more for me.

Nice focus and DOF. Colours are very interesting. Maybe could have cropped the composition a bit to add to the minimalist feel.

damn that two leafs on the foreground, it are distracting. the composition on the middle isn't the solution that I prefer.6
