I'm not really getting any sense of DOF here. The lighting is not very good and image can be larger.

I like the composition however there is little that is in focus

unfortunately I don't see the use of shallow depth of field.

The background really isn't out of focus so much as it is dark. This is also a fairly noisy shot.
