 Shot at a pleasant brunch on the 2nd level of a classic "Key West"-style home/restaurant. Brought my camera with me (never do that in these situations) because I wanted a Table Shot.

I chose the dubious desat and I am sure it will bite me. I like the, ironically enough, shallow DoF and the moisture on the glass.

Hopefully it scores well. I like it well enough.

I actually had to get this validated mid-challenge. It was a simple coincidence that the person and the surroundings areas had 0% yellow in it. The man was too tan to have yellow skin tones. So it was a sel-desat of all colors but yellow. Desat a little of the yellow though....JPR, I think the shot works because of the composition and DoF more than the table aspect or sel. desat. Plus who doesn't like a fresh glass of water on an 80 degree day. Yeah I was in that weather, but now am back to 8 inches of snow...

The glass is nice and all, but what REALLY impresses me is that you were able to get Chuck Norris to model for you! ;-)

damn B. I really need to know your secret to getting 6+ scores with shots like this, esp. with the selective desat....you are incredible! Don't take this the wrong way as I like the shot a lot I just had it pegged as around a 5.9 on DPC (which I clearly don't understand...dpc that is..). Had I voted on it I would have given it a 7.

I like the selective desat here. Would have liked the crop to be a tad higher, to avoid cutting him off in the middle of the eyes, but my guess is that was not even in the view, so it was either that or losing the bottom of the glass, in which case you made the right choice. 8

Oooh, makes me thirsty. Very effective, except for the distraction cause db the man on the left. I would have probably cropped more of him out. A 6.
