Yup, shot in RAW. Nikon SB-24 flash controlled by wireless and set on manual, probably 1/16 power, and bounced off the wall and ceiling behind the camera.

White balance, convert to TIFF. Process in PSE2.

The technicals: I like bounce flash so I think your lighting is excellent. Your composition is nice with the slightly off centered foreground subject. The color scheme works well.

The feel: What are you trying to accomplish here? This is where the picture fails. The title gives us the impression we should be "overloaded" either literally or virtually in one of our senses. Visually, the picture is more bare than crowdede. We could imagine an overload of coffee smell (mmmmm), but not in this picture. I can hardly see the coffee and it is trapped in the sterile cage of a white filter. The DOF, while nicely done, also does not add much here other than to meet the challenge.

The game: you were rewarded with a near five because your techincals were well done. You were not rewarded with a higher score because the picture fails for the reasons above and does not transcend beyond an exercise in shallow DOF.

Hmmm. Not sure why this didn't score a little higher. Maybe it was that the viewers couldn't engage with the subject, or didn't see any "Wow" in it?

Personally I like the balance of the composition and the DOF is on the mark for the challenge. White balance, focus, lighting, etc... are all fine as well. Maybe the white cup in between the two blue ones is too much? Throws off the symetry a little? Just a thought.

Smile and keep having fun!

Good lighting and exposure. I like how the bright blue cups add color. I think the blue cup on the right needs to be turned so that the handle doesn't show.

If I were voting on this one, I would give it at least a 6. Probably a 7.
