:::AFTER CHALLENGE:::
I'm pretty dissapointed at how low this scored, but I knew it wasn't gonna ribbon or anything either...About the black background, I didn't do that on purpose. The dad was standing in the background wearing a dark dark blue sweatshirt, all I did was clone out some smudges in the backround left by the glass. And as for the wire, I guess I COULD have gotten rid of it, but it was just so darn time consuming and it kept looking messed up, even when I did it in small incriments. I think this is a definite "neatimage victim". Iwaited too long to edit this, so I didn't see how smooth it looked until it was too late. I also tried making the wires looks smoother by doing that, but then it made him look to soft. I didn't think the wires would be MAJOR problem, but I alluded to it in the title to help. Oh well, this is what I get for entering a candid :(

I love newborn photos - but this babe looks a bit blurred. Too much noise reduction / neat image maybe.

But a photo to treasure for sure.

Regardless of scoring, this is one of those photos that will be treasured forever. Preserve it well, and pass it along.

The first thing that jumps out at me when viewing this is the babies face and hands. Second thing (just being honest) is the slight blurring and wishing it was a little cleaner focus-wise. That's the mentality that comes forth from spending too much time here at DPC. My wife would look at this and say "Ahhhh, it's wonderful!". Some of her favorite family photos aren't technically perfect, but they're perfect in her mind as they tell a story and enrich our memories.

It took me a minute to notice the wire in the photo. I also didn't notice the blacked out background until after reading the comments left by others. I like the wire, it adds context. As for the blacked out bg, hard to say without seeing the original whether it enhanced this image or not (for me personally).

Overall, an engaging photo quite worthy of sharing. I love being able to do that with Free Studies.

Smile and keep having fun! :D

A very distinct and important photograph.
The diffused glow gives it an etherel feeling, whilst the criss-cross wire in the glass makes you really feel like a spectator witnessing this amazing moment.
Great shot, that means more than most shots.

I wouldn't have chosen to black out the background. Show the natural environment!..

No matter how this does....if I were you, I'd clone out the "wire" and you will have a very good photo on your hands.

I love this picture and your post processing of it. I'm opening up PS so I can do(try) the same thing to my baby's nursery picture.

Touching, emotive photo but the window lines are distracting
