Whenever passing by that old "windgauge", I try to imagine with what wind it left its last squeak and got silent forever.

Greetings from the Critique Club

I think this location has a lot of potential for very good and interesting shots. The textures and perspectives available in this image are very pleasing.

This photo has a few problems. The focus appears soft, and in a shot like this I feel it should be sharper. It appears to be oversharpend, possibley in an attempt to make it more focused?

The wind vane would be better vertical.

It has a bit too much noise. I see it's been suggested you use a program like NeatImage to fix this. You may also try shooting with other ISO's say 50 or 100 if your camera supports that. This would help not have it in the first place. Also did you use a digital zoom feature of this camera? That can cause these problems also.

I do like your comment on your thoughts behind this shot. It fits the subject well.

I hope this is helpful.

JC

I can't understand those critiques, I think here we must pay attention on meaning on photo not techincal aspect. This is great view of tradition and style of the area where the photo come from. GP want to show you something that could not be seen anywhere.

Nice idea. I think I'd have tried to get the vane vertical. Also, it may have been worth running the image through NeatImage (www.neatimage.com), which would probably have made the sky nice and smooth.

The clouds are gone..what else has gone from your picture? I like the red roof and the silouetted weather vane, but the colors and details are muted as it the sun had gone behind a cloud.

Yikes is that abberation along the roof and outside the rod? A little slated but nice composition.

There is nothing "Gone" in this picture that I can see.

The vane is crooked, which distracts from an otherwise good shot. Shame that wire is in the way, too.

could use neatimage on the sky, and less sharpening as there is significant haloing on the edges...4
