I think your conversion is absolutely beautiful. If you don't mind sharing I'd love to know how you achieved this.
My only thought is the darkening around the edges on the top of the photo detract somewhat on this otherwise lovely image. |

What an awesome photo! The company I work for used to own a company in Fredericksburg (Marketfare Foods). I always wanted to go there. Now even more. What a great historic feel this has. I too can't wait to see more.
One thing I do sometimes when my sky is blown out is to make a duplicate layer. Then turn that layer into a gray or sky colored gradient, and adjust the opacity so the underneath picture shows thru. Then, you can erase the bottom part of the picture and keep the cool gradient sky. Here's an exaggerated example of what I mean. But sometimes the gradient covers more of the sky.:

About 7 years ago we visited Mary Washington College with #1 son. He ended up going to James Madison instead. However, he and us too really liked your town. Nice capture on a not so pretty day. |

I look fwd to seeing more images of this town with all it's history. The sepia looks great for this, giving it the dull overcast lighted winter time look. |

Oohh...I like this. Feels very much like small town America. I love the cozy little towns with the quaint shops. |
