The icicle is good but I'm distracted by the dirt on the beams behind it

There isnt enough variation between the foreground and the background here. The composition is also very basic and uninteresting. Perhaps try a cooler overal color tempature next time to bring out the "cold day" feeling.

next time borrow your neighbours ladder and use that window as a background. it'll work much better than the white painted wood.
