 I really like the lighting set up that I used for this. This is my daughter and we placed her at the edge of the sunlight on a porch overhang. I placed some white sheets below her to bounce sunlight up onto her face. I converted it to black and white using channel mixer and added a bleach bypass filter with grain for the final image. I wanted her to look like she was at church for her confirmation....I tired to be as "good" as possible.

Very nice mood set here, and her eyes just drew me in.
14th place - even being a smaller than normal image - way to go!

Well I made a rookie mistake. I should have increased the size. Oh well, next time. Thanks for all the great comments.

Great subject and title, but I wish the size of the entry was up to the DPC maximum recommended size (640 px on the largest dimension) so I can inspect it closer.

wow, this is really lovely and ethereal. I see so many pictures here similar to this, but lacking the magic. I think it's only the size that will keep this from ribboning.

Lovely picture, though the light on her face at some spots is a little harsh (like on her chin) but other then that, its beautiful.

his is a superb image...but I wish you submitted it at the full 640px instead of 461px...I love the eyes and the b and w...I am trying to see the connection to the challenge topic, and apart from the fact that she is a good girl partaking in confirmation, I can't really see how this works...but I do like the image it's lovely 7

this would be killer larger it is a beautiful moment. maybe if you have a similar outtake you could enter in the free study i bet it would do well

This is very good. I think you might lose a few votes cos you didn't take advantage of using a larger size pic. I like the contrasts. The black and white is really good. I like her gaze and her freckles. I really like this a lot.
