"Snappy" the "Bye Bye" bird (fav thing to say, and loudly)
He has lived with us for about 8 yrs now. His previous humans moved to Canada. He almost removed my finger long ago, but now gives me snuggles. He was eating wet corn, so the beak is wet. Once in a while I try to exercise my old lenses. This is with a 1972 model 50mm/ 1.4 Nikkor S. I wanted the shallow DOF. It is just a little motion blurred, as he was coming to me to see if he could disassemble the camera and lens.
Snappy is a lesser sulphur crested cockatoo, and about finger tip to elbo long.

I'm not surprised it almost took your finger off after seeing what they can do to trees and houses where I live. They are a loopy and fun bird so I'm sure they would make a great pet. They have more character than any bird I know. He looks like he was posing for you in this shot.

wot a cutey waddy ..
i'd love to have one of these birds .. greg got me a budgie as a christmas present but these bigger birds are much more intelligent .. i think you can even toilet train them .. amazing .. i dont think ppl realise just how bright these birds are .. i bet you have a blast with this bird .. he'd be able to stand up to someone like katee too .. i'm worried that if i let charlie, our new budgie out've the cage alone with katee that she will try and eat him .. i'm hoping katee gets a lot more trustworthy .. i let charlie out when katee's in the room and she's very obedient and sits and just looks .. but i dont like the look in her eye .. lol .. :)

Was he upset at first of having new owners? I hear they get very attached to people. He must have wondered why his family left him :( He looks like he is all adjusted now tho :)

I love the soft dreamy look of this photo. Just my style :)
