Motorcycle Safety and Awareness Day at the Capitol
(also doubled as a promo thing for some movie)
I think these kids thought I was with the press or something. The actors were supposed to pose with the Governor's staff for a photo op in the main stairwell of the North Atrium, so the entire north half of the Capitol was roped off. I was allowed in only because that's where my office is.
These kids (and that day, randomly, there were a whole bunch of groups of kids like this one) were trapped on the south side, at the shoe shine stand overlooking the Rotunda, hoping the celebs would walk through the Rotunda on their way to the atrium.
Never happened. The photo op was canceled because of lack of "crowd control." Too many of us in the north offices were standing around overlooking the stairs, armed to the teeth with camera phones, point and shoots, and my dSLR. Wimps.
Anyway, while waiting, these kids kept trying to get my attention so I would take their picture. Of course, I obliged.

(The lighting, as always in that building, was atrocious. I tried 800 ISO, but it didn't help much.)
