 Where I live in Oakleigh, Victoria, Australia we have a huge population of senior citizens from Greece and Italy.

They congregate outside coffee shops, markets, supermarkets - in fact anywhere.

The chat so much and for so long that the local mall has set a 1 hour limit on the public seating (no joke!)

So I caught a group of Greek men this morning whilst they were 'hanging with their homies!'

what i love about it - the fact that no matter where you go world wide, this sort of thing can be found. Old friends, laughing. Laughing is such a generic (not sure if that is the right word) expression. It is known the world over. EVERYONE knows how to smile and laugh. Love it, and nicely spotted

Fun image, and good story too. We have the same situation here in the US, only they are "geek" coffee shops LOL.
They make these guys move before the B-S gets too deep to sweep off the floor. I can just imagine what kind of yarns they are swapping. I can see why they would want to sit around and talk all afternoon.

What a fun, happy photo!! It makes growing old look like something that just might be a delightful experience :) I think I need to plan on moving to Oakleigh for retirement :) It would be such a trip having reversed seasons and having to bundle up in July & August :)
