Was sitting at the computer looking for a pencil. Saw one between a couple of sheets of paper. My mind began to race. Began to wonder what pencils did between the sheets when I left the office for the night. Fixed up a bed out of a ream of paper. Found another pencil. Nothing to write home about. Just an ordinary one that could be found in any gin joint along the way. Tucked them in together and left for the night. From the smiles on their faces the next morning, you could tell they had a story to write. Was going to ask but realized. . . what they did between the sheets was none of my business! I'm not a detective. I'm a photographer. I took my best shot!
Used a variety of light placements to create shadows trying to create some depth perception on the white background. Deliberately did not iron the sheets or the ream cover to give the appearance of a rumpled bed. Also, compared the screen image of the cover with the actual cover to check color sync. Appeared right on. Thought of any number of titles that might have worked: "Sorry # 2" (ala Maxwell Smart"); "Let's cuddle"; "Will you write me off in the morning?"; etc., etc. Stuck with the original thought. Thought it fit the theme very nicely. Tried to keep the shot simple and sharp.
No matter the results. . .I had a lot fun with it!
Auto adjusted, cropped for size, and sharpened the edges for final submission.

Cute idea, well executed. Just the right amount of context without being too uninvolved in the composition.

What can I say it should have been higher! It really is a fantastic idea, very clever and exceptionally amusing. The envelopes work well as a blanket.

Excellent entry for the challenge. Only thing that might have made it stronger was if you were able to get rid of the shadows. The do take the attention from the pencils themself. Overall I really like your refreshing approach at this challenge. Well done.

I don't understand your 31th position... I was figuring your pic to make the top 5 honestly. Clever idea and crisp shot.

Very cute idea, I love how you have the "blanket" tucked back like that! haha
I would like to see a tighter crop in on the pencils, and more dramatic shadows

Too funny! Naughty, naughty pencils. I hope they didn't leave any... er... um... "stains" on your paper :P There does seem to be some noise on their "pillow".
