He claims this is the only flower in Iraq. Judging by the look on his face I would have to guess this is sarcasm.

I read about that flower in a military newspaper: "Unknown Marine disregards his own safety and single handedly takes on 300 enemy insurgents to retrieve the only known flower in Iraq." What a guy!

Hey, I was stationed on the same base! This is taken at the Wing Headquarters Building at Al Asad Air Base in Anbar Province, Iraq. I lived in the barracks right behind that dish that says "Can You Hear Me Now?" Wow! And, yes, that IS the only flower in Iraq -- or at least on that God-forsaken patch of sand we call an air base. Semper Fi.
