Greetings from the Critique Club
FIrst off let me congratulate you for using one of my favorite subjects. Firefighters are hero's every day of the week wether people realize it or not. Ok off to the critique.
FIrst I like the composition although it leans a bit to the left. Watch your horizons while shooting or while post processing. Voters dont like to have to feel they have to tilt their head to view it straight. Next lets look at your focal point. The title leads me to a person but the focal point is on the car in the foreground. I'd have tried to manually pick a focal point and put it on the firefighter to give the blurred foreground and the background. Although the reflections in the car are nice it distracts from what should be the focal point. I like the fact that you went black and white with it. It has good sharpness, contrast, and subject. Had your focal point been on the correct feature in the frame I could easily see this as finishing at closer or above 6. Good job overall and good luck in future challenges.

I like this idea but I wish the fireman were in a little more focus. Plus on my screen he is a little too dark and kind of blends into the background. |

I like your selective focus here, but its one the wrong spot. Either that or your shutter set too slow. Your title suggest that the firefighter is the subject of the image, yet he is out of focus and too close to the edge of the frame. It feels like he is about to walk right out of the image. On the positive side of the image, your tonal range and coloring with this one is very, very nice. |

shouldn't the focus be on the brave? |

The subject seems to be a little distant IMO. However I do like the reflections in the foreground car, cool! Nice job with the b/w conversion. |

Are you referring to the fireman? This photo is very busy and one has to look hard to find the fireman as he blends into the b/g. The police car is the sharpest focal point. |

Great capture and i like the refleactions of the car ( though some voters may find it a bit distracting)Based on you title which focuses on the fire fighter, you may have chosen a tighter crop by cutting out some car element. |

wish the fireman was a step further to the right and better separated from the background. (or closer) |
