*** CRITIQUE CLUB COMMENT ***

Karen,

This is a very appealing photograph on its own terms, but perhaps not especially well-suited to the challenge "street photography", where the voters as a group expect edgier, more dynamic work.

Speaking tot he image itself, you'd have been well-served if you had recovered more detail in the dark areas I think, and cropped some off the bottom for a more dynamic composition. The following is a very quick-and-dirty stab at what I'm talking about, using PS CS2 shadow/highlight recovery and some retoning with hue/saturation in "colorize" mode. It's really a very appealing shot and a little more work will make it extra-special for your family.

the white shirt looks a bit blown out to me and the photo looks like it could use more contrast, I like the reflection thou

I like this one. I like the lines and the boy's reflection in the glass. It reminds me of the 1950s. Good job.

A nice moment. Excluding the child from the image (only including his reflection in the glass) could add a new dimension of untold. But here, the child and his reflection are fighting for a dominant place in the picture. Also, you've blown the highlights on the child's shirt.

I donĂ¢€™t have much knowledge on street photography but my thoughts on you shot are as follows: This shot is great. Love the reflection in th ewindow and the look of interest on his fact as well as the pointing finger. Must remind us all of when we were a kid and saw something we liked in a shop window. 10

Love the expression and the reflection in the window. Just a beautiful shot. Great angle, and sharpness and clarity on subject are right on. Nice work.

This places highly on the cuteness scale! The b/w processing seems a bit washed out to me however.

cute, classic image. Almost wish I could tell what he is looking about but that also makes me want to view the image longer.
