Translated - Many Generations

Castillo de San Marco - I found a location that I thought would work and I sat, for about 4 hours, well moving around a bit, but same general area. There were a lot of tourists passing through, but I waited until I got one person isolated ... but not just one person, one that looked like he belonged there. All the others were wrapped like snow bunnies. It felt like days of sitting quietly in a corner shooting strangers, but was and quiet and in retrospect, I'll do it again.

Dang! This is so inspiring. This is exactly the type of "10" photo I think of when I think of "Street Photography". My only complaint about this one is that it didn't at least make honorable mention if not a ribbon.

I'm very impressed that you waited for four hours to get this shot. I like to see that level of dedication.

About the shot: I like that the boy doesn't look like a stereotype of someone you would expect to see in a photo like this (i.e. wrinkled old man/woman dressed quaintly). Not that there's anything wrong with photos of wrinkled old men/women dressed quaintly, but it's refreshing to see a photo of someone a little less stereotypical for this type of shot.

Your title is perfect. And the lighting is nice, too.

Do you live in Europe? Telecommute? Jetset? ;)

Wonderful picture and he does look like he belongs.

For someone who did a lot of moaning about not having anywhere to shoot, I'd say you did just fine! Lovely location.

Beautiful shot, it should do fantastically well for you. The only tiny nit-pick I have is the tiny corner of blue sky at the top left corner. IMO it's distracting.

A nice minimalistic work here. Whatever you did to brighten up the human subject is a *mite* too strong, but works nonetheless... although there are some weird goings on in the background.. but that might just be the walls themselves.

I like the color and processing in this image. I think you should have cropped the little piece of sky out.

very nice, maybe consider cropping out the sky completely

Great shot, love the angle, and the sharpness and clarity are right on. IMO its great composition but would have maybe cropped a little lower to remove the sky. A great shot non the less. 8
