Composition
The angle you shot this at works very well here. He's slightly offcentred, the lines of the building lead the eye throughout. Very well done!
Technical stuff (exposure, dof, lighting etcâ€Â¦)
The subtle tones you've used work well with this shot (though I may have tried more yellow in the mix). IMO the mid tones are a bit too dark, makes the details on the man difficult to pick up. Using an adjustment layer with either levels/selective colour (neutral channel)brings back a bit of light to him. The focus on this shot appears soft.......unsharp mask would help with this
Message/atmosphere portrayed
Great atmosphere, though I don't get the feeling of love from it.
Meeting the challenge
Would have met the Street Photography challenge brilliantly, reaching to meet Love 11
My personal opinion
I love the composition, the emotion of this shot, just wish that you'd had the time to enter it into the right challenge.
Hope you find this helpful, feel free to PM me if you have any questions
regards
sue

Wow, how does this show love? If it's in that paper then I need a subscription! |

Great pic, although some highlights are burnt out - but where's the link to the challenge? |

How does this have anything to do with love?! |

I like this photo. It embraces a photo-journalistic idea with a poignant statement. I like that you decided to do this in black and white. Gives it a more story-telling aspect, showing the whole photo as the subject where color would have created a more piecemeal feeling. Way to go! |

This would have been a good one for the street photography contest. |

Not getting the 'Love' theme. Nice shot though. |
