Positives:
Nice perspective and an interesting angle of capture. Its different. The DOF nicely draws attention to the girl looking up. The variety of people provides a lot of stories within this capture for the viewer to speculate on. Nice wide variety of colors.
Technicals:
Technical quality is generally good. Use of DOF to draw attention to the girl is achieved. Sharpness is well done. The horizontal lines in this image are off a little, it looks like you might need to rotate it slightly clockwise.
Generally speaking the distribution of people works well except for the left foreground. The boy's left arm looks like it is sticking out of his head and that is a distraction. You might consider cloning out the forehead of the adult behind him. The left foreground looks cluttered.
The challenge:
The concept of love is hard to immediately recognize within the context of the composition and that probably affected this image in voting. |

Holy crap this is good. I can't fave it, though. You're on my "no fave" list because you have too many good pictures. |

Nothing wrong with this at all, Nick. Love the little girl looking up, and the riot of color. You already know it's an awesome perspective for a shot. |

I love it! The boy covering the face and the girl looking directly at me, piercing me...so many hands flowing...but, why didn't you include the bold head on the shot, no space in the balcony? |

An interesting photograph, and a great perspective, but I'm not sure that I get the connection to 'love' or that I see 'family' here either. I get more wrapped up in wondering what is happening, or why the little girl is looking up at you. |

you love this photo because you understand the perspective - the situation around it. From the "outside" this is hard to comprehend - I'm not sure what I'm seeing - thought it was a roller coaster first, now maybe a mall? Your main subject compositionally is covering his face, most of the image is out of focus - these issues make it hard to give it a good score. Sorry I don't like your photo, but i hope that helps you understand why. |

I don't even see how this represents a family, let alone 'Love'? Nice photo though. |
