What also defines it so well is the clump of all the builders' signs. Other than maybe a car shape or two, this could easily be Palm Springs California in the 50s, too. Nice timeless shot and you described (and captured) very well that strange sorta nowhere undefined region that exists in places like this. |

This is cool with the signs for sale on the side of the road to really complement the back story you gave us. |

I love the lines of palms, they give the photo some depth. |

you made the right choice with the black and white.
Although I haven't seen the color version, so what makes me think I know what I'm talking about!!!!
I don't know?
I just like it, that's all :-)

Those are some very tall palms. I wonder if they are the same variety that we have here? I see by the signs exactly what you mean about the development. The developers here are in a panic, as the very hot housing market has nose dived in the last 6 or 8 months. It's all driven by greed anyway, but it does ruin huge areas of natural land and beauty. Those trees to be the same variety, and about the same size as some that the local womans club planted here in the mid 1950's. |

Those are definately some towering palm trees! Now correct me if I am wrong, but I have heard that palms do not natively grow in Arizona? |

Wow those trees are tall....I guess the city doesn't have rules about signs either by the looks of all those there! |

this picture, if you could take out the more modern cars and add ones from the 40's or 50's would look so totally cool...you did a good job capturing that feel and the desat makes it look old, really well done |

IMNSHO, the focus could be a bit sharper, but you've certainly captured the feeling of certain parts of Phoenix. |

What a perfect illustration of that land! The black and white enhances the starkness really well! Great job on this photo!
