 One of my friends recently told me that she thinks that holding hands is the only action left that truly means you love someone. That may be a little extreme, but I do agree that there is something very special about holding hands, especially as the first butterfly-in-the-stomach step beyond friendship. This photo isn't technically the best; I had some trouble with lighting, but I sort of like how it seems as if the hands are emerging from the dark...as if there is a lot more going on beyond our view of just the entwined hands.

I like the idea now, but when I first looked at the photo, I had to really look to see that the hands were from two different people. It might have worked better if the hands were more different.

I think when first looking at this photo, it portrays hope to me more than love... looks like a person praying. But I'm guessing that the hands belong to two different people, and you're portraying the beginning of a romance (hence the title)? If that is the case, perhaps a bit of editing would help to bring out the slightly different skin tones of these two hands, to show that it is indeed two different people.
