Kind of a sick entry for me. I was first thinking of having just the roses behind my back for the "Love" challenge, and started thinking what I can do to give it a little extra something. Then I remembered the "Hate" challenge .
Yup, that's me. My back looks huge there, kind of funny. I set up a black background, a 580ex/umbrella to my left, and a white reflector to my right, just for a little fill. The silver reflector would've been too much, I wanted the right side to be dark. I set the remote timer to 12 shots at 2 second intervals, and my wife was the director standing behind me telling me how to position my hands and the props, particularly getting a nice glare off the blade. She was also my "wardrobe stylist" to make sure my suit was not bunched up in the back. For all that work, all she got was a dozen roses.
PP was just convert from RAW, did some levels adjustments, hue/saturation adjustment, cropped, resized, usm, border, save for web.
I would've liked to have taken care of a few things, but being basic editing I couldn't. Here's what it would've looked like in advanced editing:

| sweet idea.. this seems more for 'love hate' than just 'hate', but i really like it. nice lighting and shadowing. i also love the contrast here. nice image. |
