Mmm, yes. I should have removed the sticks, honestly. But my friends made the snowman and I didn't want to mess it up for them.

Meets the challenge? The details say to "include 1 or more trees in your composition" - which I definitely did. I met the challenge. It's perfectly valid for people to feel that I didn't do it in a way that is visually preferable to them. I personally would have prefered a shot where the tree was the subject, but didn't get a chance to do that. So what I'm trying to say is that if I get comments that say "I feel the tree should be more prominant" or "The snowman really takes my focus away from the tree" or something to that effect then that will be just fine, but if I get any comments that say "DNMC" I think I will scream.

post challenge:
I AM SCREAMING NOW. ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH. I wish I could blame this on non-calibrated monitors, because if they FAILED TO SEE ANY PART OF THE TREE because then it would at least make a little bit of sense.

OMG, how dare you, put a snowman in a tree picture. Shesh. We have no choice but to remand you to the suck league until you mind the proper confines of your box.

If there is one thing I've learned here in my short history at DPC is that the subject of the challenge better be the subject of your photo -or else. God forbid it's not the main subject and so blatently obvious that it knocks you over.
Folks can be narrow minded here -just as anywhere else. Case in point:in the current ice challange, someone commented on my photo saying that they 'didn't know how this [photo] honors winter'. Hello!? the theme is 'ice'.

I see the tree with no problem on my monitor, but a lot of people don't have high res or calibration, so they dinged you... this is a humorous photo, gave me a chuckle, with well-exposed snow.

People are so limited, even in a minimal challenge.

C'est la vie.

your tree is barely visible

True cruelty at work here were that this travesty was deliberately perpetrated at the hands of a branch wielding vandal. If only the result of natural "causes" however, then one must accept change as the only constant and move on. Either way though, we must celebrate the fact that it has been documented for posterity.

well, there is a tree in the dark background. I fail to see what you are trying to present. You're all set if we have a snowman challenge.

I need the whole tree. Let him go.
