Very little processing on this one. The conversion from RAW with a tint and exposure adjustment took care of most of the look you see here. The rest was a crop, and USM.
Now, for the explaining: Yes, this is a self portrait. No, I'm not an alcoholic. I do not loathe myself. In fact, I'm pretty darn happy with my life these days. This bottle of rum has been with me for almost a year now. I just happened to be looking for an entry in this challenge and had a few thoughts along the lines of self loathing. These thoughts came about after much reflection on the topic of hate. I try very hard not to hate anyone or anything, so this challenge represented exactly that to me. . . a challenge. I finally decided that if I ever get to the point where hate is a part of my daily life, that the only thing I could reasonably hate is myself. At that point, it's time for a drastic change in my life. This shot represents a place I hope to never go.
By the way, the scar is from an accident while I was ironing my uniform. :)

definitely the best execution of the "self loathing" interpretation of the challenge. the tones as well as the content do a very good job of getting the message across. minor nit it that I think i can see one or two persons in reflection on the bottle, which takes away from the sense of isolation that is here otherwise. - 9

The colors and lighting are really intense! The angle you shot this is interesting because you can see the reflection of everything in front of the bottle in the bottle.

very appropriate choice of colors. seems to be a bit out of focus

I like the overall tonality of this photo. Good take on the challenge as well. I think you could have bumped the exposure up a tad and still kept the tone you were looking for. Overall a great photo and should do well in the challenge.

The composition is incredible but I think had the color tweaking been a little less intensethis shot ould have been better.
